In the section SBV Blog - our general blog on school bullying and violence (SBV) - we inform you about news, events, new trends, outcomes of studies, new publications and much more related to school bullying and violence. Here you can interact with other users by posting your experiences, opinions, ideas and questions. You can also suggest new topics and open your own threads. All new postings must first be approved by the moderators of this blog before they get published.
In the section Conference Blog we publish selected outcomes of our five online conferences that we offer as part of our project VISIONARIES-NET. Our online conferences deal with school bullying and violence (SBV) from different perspectives. To each of our conferences we invite experts from throughout the world for target oriented discussions on selected topics.

Traditional versus new forms of bullying: Is there a difference?Saturday 05. of May 2007In this thread of our 3rd online conference "New Forms of School Bullying and Violence: Cyberbullying, Happy Slapping and Other New Trends" we debated about the differences between ‘traditional’ face-to-face bullying and cyberbullying. In our discussion we - of course - did not manage to resolve our overall question on whether there is a difference between traditional school bullying and cyberbullying or not. Nevertheless various very interesting thoughts and point of views resulted from our discussions that we would like to share with you. Effects and media programsTuesday 20. of February 2007The 33 participants of the 4th online conference ““School Bullying and Violence: The Role of Media”, held between May 15 to June 9, discussed about the effects and media programs, too. Everyone brought his/her experience and portrayed the situation as it is in one of the 19 countries where they come from.

Who uses web sites on school bullying and violence?Thursday 15. of February 2007In our 1st online conference ‘Coping with School Bullying and Violence Using the Internet’ one of our threads focused on the question on how to build target group oriented web sites. The starting point of the discussion was the assumption that we actually need different web sites for different target groups - such as pupils, teachers or parents – as these groups differ in terms of their problems, their ways of coping with the problem of school bullying and violence (SBV) or the vocabulary or the tools that fit to a specific group.
